The Special Group for the Study of Unidentified Flying Objects (Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Task Force) at the Pentagon will disclose some of the collected data. This is reported by The New York Times with reference to the report of the US Senate Intelligence Committee.
According to the document, the group needs to “standardize data and reports” on sightings of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) and inform the public of at least some of its findings within six months of the intelligence authorization.
The group was established in 2017. It was preceded by another program, the “Advanced threat identification program for the aerospace industry”, which was officially completed in 2012. However, people who worked in it claimed that the program continued to function after the closure. Later, the defense Ministry confirmed this, NYT reports.
