Each of us can name offhand a few anti-heroes who are loved by the people, despite their antics. Recently, scientists conducted a study to find out why many people sympathize with villains, and came to the conclusion that they recognize some of their traits in them. For example, Petyr Baelish’s cunning or Moriarty’s high intelligence. And watching this character in a movie gives the viewer the opportunity to try on the role of the villain and see what happens.

It is impossible not to admire a man who can compete with the intelligence of Sherlock Holmes himself. And even if his intentions are far from righteous, the image of an elegant Brit with an unsurpassed mind will win anyone. Actor Andrew Scott managed to play Moriarty in a way that left us in awe of the character.
