Autopsies showed that blood clots that appear in the body of those infected with a coronavirus infection are present not only in the lungs, but also in almost all organs. This was reported by New York University pathologist Amy V. Rapkiewicz.

Rapkiewicz’s team published the results of their research in the Lancet Clinical Medicine. According to the researchers, COVID-19 can lead to serious health problems such as stroke, kidney failure, heart inflammation, and immune system complications.

Previously, doctors reported that when the disease develops, blood clots can occur in large blood vessels, as well as in the lungs, heart, brain and skin. But a new study suggests that blood clots may also appear in smaller blood vessels.
